Welcome to the Manning River Dragon Boat Club
The Manning River Dragonboat Club was founded in 2008 after the inaugural meeting on 14th April. A committee was formed and initial processes undertaken to become members of DBNSW, obtain a boat and ascertain storage of the boat. Fundraising initiatives saw the club in a healthy position by the time they held 'Come and Try' days in mid August 2008 which successfully established a core membership for the club. The Manning River provides the ideal location for training, with a DBNSW Regatta already established there. The MRDBC entered its first official regatta at Tacoma in January 2009.
The MRDBC is open to the diversity of people living in the area and aims to provide personal and team benefits and great exercise at a beautiful location while fostering good sportsmanship.
The MRDBC trains on the Manning River and provides a range of training options including endurance paddles, along with a variety of days and times to train. The Manning River is a beautiful venue surrounded by views of the mountains which form a natural border for this region and its waterways. The Manning River is Australia's only double delta river system with two entries to the river - one at Harrington and one at Old Bar.
